ASTL manufactures state-of-the-art steel pipes, which are are manufactured in mills that are fully automated to ensure that they are of the highest quality and completely reliable. ASTL has earned an enviable reputation for being a company dedicated to quality, owing to its firm adherence to uncompromising standards of quality. Total Quality Control is built into the organisational structure. This ensures that all efforts at all levels are towards the development, maintenance and improvement of quality. The objective is that the final product must completely meet the expectations of customers at the most attractive prices. All pipes have to pass through a series of tests at various stages of production. This ensures quick and precise results. ASTL has adopted the total quality management approach in order to achieve complete customer satisfaction. The various S.Q.C. techniques used include: High Frequency Induction Welding - A sophisticated Electric Resistance Welding procedure that uses the parent metal to fuse the edges. This maintains the same chemistry in the final product with only a fractional change in grain structure. Seam Annealing - An online seam annealing system that is used to uniformly balance the grain structure. Debeading - Enables the internal bead of pipes to be trimmed in height as per customer's requirement.
